Transfer News: Ronaldo Tempted To Join London Giants, Man United Enter The Race For Lukic

Cristiano Ronaldo, a former forward for Manchester United and a member of Portugal’s national team, is “extremely tempted” to join Chelsea of the Premier League, according to Calciomercato reporter Daniele Longo on Twitter (h/t Express).

Midway through the season, the 37-year-old decided to leave the Red Devils following his contentious interview with British journalist Piers Morgan. The forward is currently a free agent as a result.

In the summer of 2022, Todd Boehly was considering signing the forward to the Stamford Bridge squad. But in the end, Barcelona sold Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the Blues.

However, Ronaldo is once more rumored to be moving to Chelsea. The legendary Portuguese player wouldn’t mind facing criticism from United supporters for joining a rival team.

Man United & Leeds among suitors for Sasa Lukic

There are still holes to be filled in the Manchester United squad moving forward, despite the significant investment made in the summer that resulted in five permanent additions.

With the high-profile additions of Casemiro and free agent Christian Eriksen, the squad significantly improved in the center of the field.

However, the age of the newcomers and the uncertainty over Fred’s future have made the addition of a new central midfielder necessary.

Sasa Lukic, a midfielder for Torino who has quietly excelled for Serbia at the World Cup, is a fresh addition to the mix.

According to Italian publication Torino Granata, despite Torino’s best efforts, Lukic appears to be evaluating his future, even in the near future away from the club. The Serbian’s contract with the Turin-based club is set to expire in 2024.

United and Serie A powerhouse Roma have been mentioned as potential destinations for the 26-year-old. Unexpectedly, Leeds United is also listed as a team that is eager to add the Serbian international to their squad.
