OFFICIAL: Chelsea Announce Third January Signing (Photos)
English Premier League side, Chelsea has confirmed their third January signing as they signed Andrey Santos from Brazilian club side Vasco da Gama. The young midfielder joins the likes of David Fofana and Benoit Badiashile on the list of players signed by Chelsea this January.
Santos was seen alongside other January signings at Stamford Bridge yesterday during Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to defending champions Manchester City in a Premier League fixture.
Vasco da Gama released an official statement on their website to confirm the departure of Santos to Chelsea.
“Vasco da Gama agreed on this Friday (01/06) the permanent transfer of Andrey Santos to European football. Born in the youth ranks of Gigante da Colina, the midfielder will defend the colours of Chelsea, from England, in the coming seasons. The youngster will end his first spell at the club from São Januário at the age of 18 with 38 appearances and eight goals,” the club confirmed.
