Chelsea Would Be Making A Huge Mistake To Sell This Key Star To Man City Next Summer

Chelsea Midfielder Mateo Kovavic found his Goalscoring boots on Tuesday evening during the UEFA Euro Qualifiers between the Croatian National team and the Turkey National team at Timsah Arena.

The Former Real Madrid Midfielder scored a brace in the first half during the game and it was all what the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament second runner-up needed to beat Turkey in Turkey.

Mateo Kovavic has started in the two games that the Croatian National team has played in the UEFA Euro Qualifiers in this ongoing international break as he also started against the Wales National team last weekend.

The Chelsea Midfielder is currently in the penultimate year of Chelsea contract and would be available to leave as a free agent in 2024, just like Mason Mount.

Unlike Mason Mount, Chelsea hasn’t opened any contract extension talk with Mateo Kovavic and that’s a clear indication that the West London club might sell him next summer.

According to Multiple reports, Manchester City are aware of Mateo Kovavic’s situation at Chelsea and the Citizens would be interested in making an offer for him in the summer, ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Mateo Kovavic was one of the best Players under Thomas Tuchel and he was impactful in the UEFA Champions League success of the West London club in 2021.

The Chelsea Midfielder has taken a new role at Chelsea recently as he’s now the interim Captain of the club in the absence of Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta and N’Golo Kante who are all recovering from injury.

Mateo Kovavic captained Chelsea to wins against Leeds United, Borussia Dortmund and Leicester City. He also led the Club to a draw against Everton before the international break.

With the arrival of Enzo Fernandez, the imminent contract extension of N’Golo Kante and the possibility of signing a new Midfielder next summer, Chelsea might not consider Mateo Kovavic a priority but, his recent form is enough reason to reconsider selling him to a rival club like Manchester City.
