Chelsea willing to pay €90 million to sign Premier League midfielder as Kante’s replacement

Chelsea are reportedly interested in dishing out £79 million to acquire the services of Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo. The Ecuador international has been identified as an apt replacement for N’Golo Kante.
In the current 2022–23 season, Caicedo, 21, has distinguished himself as one of the Premier League’s top prospects. He has solidified his position as an important first-team starter at the Amex Stadium since moving there for £4.5 million in January of last year from Independiente del Valle.
The Ecuadorian, a constant presence in the middle of the field, made his debut for the Seagulls’ first squad in the second half of the previous season. The 2022 FIFA World Cup star, who took over for Yves Bissouma this summer, has started all 14 of his team’s Premier League games this year.
Fichajes claims that Chelsea is set to make a transfer offer for Caicedo in the near future that is in the neighborhood of £79 million. The Blues are eager to fend off Liverpool’s interest in Caicedo since Kante is anticipated to leave Stamford Bridge on a free transfer in the following summer.
Caicedo, who is under contract at the Amex Stadium through June 2025, is well known for his boundless energy and precise tackling, much like Kante. The Blues’ midfield will undoubtedly be set for the greater part of a decade if they are successful in landing the Ecuadorian.
Caicedo discussed the transfer rumors that connected him to the Graham Potter-coached team earlier in September.
He said to Ole:
“I believe Chelsea to be among the top clubs in the world, and no one would decline an offer from a squad of that caliber. Being successful on one of the top teams in the world is a dream come true.”
Kante, on the other hand, has missed 19 games for the Blues this season in all competitions because of a chronic hamstring problem. He has played in just two Premier League games so far this year.
According to reports, Chelsea may consider a Bundesliga player as a replacement for Josko Gvardiol.
In case the Blues are unable to sign Josko Gvardiol, Chelsea has picked Bayer Leverkusen center-back Piero Hincapie as its fallback option, according to Sky Sports. The price of Hincapie might be £34 million.
Since moving to Leverkusen for over £7 million last summer from Argentine Primera Division team Talleres, Hincapie, 20, has established himself as a top breakthrough talent. He has played 51 times for the BayArena team in all competitions, scoring three goals and assisting one.
On the other hand, Gvardiol has recently attracted a lot of attention because to his outstanding performances for Croatia and RB Leipzig. Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Manchester United have recently expressed interest in the 20-year-old, who is valued at around £88 million.
