Chelsea Takeover: 3 Players Who Could Renew Their Contracts Amid New Management

English Premier League giants Chelsea football club now has a new owner after the United Kingdom government sanctioned and made things difficult for the Blues as a team.

The club was banned from signing players as well as renewing players contracts because of Abramovich’s relationship with the Russian President.

The Russian billionaire has been forced to sell Chelsea, and he completed the sales last week. Chelsea is currently taken by a new management who happens to be a billionaire from America.

As it stands, the UK government will remove every ban imposed on the club, and if that happens, here are Chelsea players who could renew their contracts in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Charly Mousonda.

The Belgian youngster is currently playing for the Chelsea U-23’s, despite featuring in the first team severely under the management of Maurizio Sarri and Frank Lampard. His contract is due to expire and amid the takeover, the youngster could renew his contract.

2. Danny Drinkwater.

A regular under Sarri, dropped down the pecking order and was loaned to Reading football club. His contract is due to expire, but he could renew his contract as new management emerges.

3. Azpilicueta

Despite extending his contract for a year, Azpilicueta’s future in Chelsea is still uncertain, amid Barcelona interest. But with the arrival of a new owner, the Spanish defender could sign more years at Chelsea.
