Chelsea have made decision about £85k-a-week Super Star
Chelsea are ‘not planning to reopen talks’ over a new contract for goalkeeper Edouard Mendy at this moment in time,
A few seasons ago Chelsea made the big decision to bring Mendy to Stamford Bridge after hearing rave reviews of the player – and despite all the criticism over his move to London – he turned out to be a quality buy.
It was only last season that he was being talked about as one of the best stoppers in World Football – but things have gone downhill since then and he is not even first choice at Chelsea this season.
Graham Potter has given young Spaniard Kepa a chance in that starting spot – and he has impressed – so much so that Mendy has become unhappy with his lack of game time.
His contract runs out in a couple of seasons time – and it now seems that Chelsea have made the decision about his long-term future as they will not open talks with the stopper over a new deal.
