Chelsea Appear To Have Made A Mistake After Missing Out On Signing Real Madrid Midfielder

Chelsea had the option of signing Aurelien Tchouameni in the summer of 2021. The former Monaco Midfielder was valued at €70 million and the Blues needed a new addition to their midfield. However, Chelsea were not convinced that Aurelien Tchouameni could make an instant impact for Thomas Tuchel.
The Blues believe Aurelien Tchouameni isn’t the perfect player needed to strengthen their midfield positions so they ended up signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
Saul joined Chelsea on loan from Atletico Madrid with €35 million option to buy but the midfielder performed much worse than expected.
Aurelien Tchouameni would have been a much better option than Saul Niguez but the Blues chose to sign the Atletico Madrid midfielder. Saul struggled to perform well under Thomas Tuchel and he returned to the Laliga side.
Real Madrid spent €80 million on signing Aurelien Tchouameni in the summer transfer window. The frenchman has remained highly consistent in performance ever since he joined the Los blancos. Tchouameni has started in 7 matches for Real Madrid this season and has provided two assists for his teammates.
He was highly impressive in performance during Real Madrid 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid. Aurelien Tchouameni has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Laliga.
