Big Announcement From Stanford Bridge As Chelsea hint on signing young Spaniard versatile winger

Chelsea are taking a keen interest in Anderlecht’s left-sided player Sergio Gomez, according to reports, this came after Ben Chilwell has been ruled out with an ACL injury, requiring surgery that will see him miss the rest of the season.

The Spaniard has been outstanding for Vincent Kompany’s side this season after joining the club in the summer of 2021 from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

The 21-year-old can play anywhere on the left and has played an exceptional role as Anderlecht full-back and winger.

Sergio Gomez spent his formative years with Espanyol and Barcelona before making his first-team breakthrough in Germany after joining Borussia Dortmund in 2018. He was sent on loan to SD Huesca. Upon returning to the Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund immediately sold the 21-year-old to Anderlecht.

The Blues are desperately in search of a left-back following an injury to Ben Chilwell. However, Gomez is unlikely to move out in the January transfer window, with Man United also keeping tabs on his current progression.
